Our Current Work

The alliance aims to promote, support, and further community-centred, sustainable and equitable management of natural resources, thereby significantly improving livelihoods, contributing to socio-economic development, promoting conservation and empowering communities to determine their own long-term destinies.

Towards seeing these outcomes, KeNRA is currently engaged in these programs and initiatives:

  1. KeNRA is currently running a program to educate communities that have a close proximity to forests and grasslands. The aim is to build their capacity in nurturing the existing vegetation even as they benefit from food resources obtained from it;
  2. The Alliance is working with different stakeholders such as government agencies working on agriculture, livestock, forests, water, and wildlife to coalesce ideas on how to conserve and improve the quality of soils that are critical to land-based biodiversity
