Mwambi Mwikamba:
Mr. Mwikamba has over 15 years’ experience in research driven policy advocacy work in Natural Resources, working closely and in collaboration with communities, line ministries, civil society organizations (CSOs), private sector and other players in the natural resources governance in Kenya, and various African intergovernmental bodies.
At KeNRA, he spearheads the consolidation and coordination of community efforts in advocating for policies and legislation that promotes equitable access, control and sustainable use of Natural Resources in Kenya. It involves building community consensus on positions on natural resources issues, advocating and negotiating with power office bearers and private sector. This is to ensure communities benefit from natural resources by participating in research, formulation of policies and legislations, resources allocation through the budget cycle, and monitoring and evaluation of the allocated resources.
He has worked extensively in consortiums to advocate for natural resources laws, legislations, policies and adoption of resolutions at the East African Legislative Assembly, the Pan African Parliament , African Commission on Human and Peoples Rights (ACPHR), United Nations Human Rights council, United Nations Environmental Assembly among others.
He has extensive network with CSOs and private sector in the natural resources rights sector in Kenya, East African region and Africa in general. He is highly skilled in research, partnership building and nurturing, networking and collaboration, and community engagement (Mobilization,organization and training).
